AICWA President Calls For Strict Action Against Ranveer Allahbadia Over ‘Controversial’ Remarks On ‘India’s Got Latent’

February 12, 2025: The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned the controversial remarks made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on the show India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina. The association has called for “strict action” against the involved individuals, demanding an immediate ban on the show and legal measures against the perpetrators.

AICWA President Suresh Gupta expressed outrage over Allahbadia’s offensive comments, which were deemed disrespectful to societal and family values. In a statement, Gupta emphasized that such content posed a threat to the moral fabric of society and should not be tolerated. The AICWA has also urged the Indian film industry to boycott all those associated with the show, including Allahbadia and Raina, and cease collaborations with them in the future.

The statement from AICWA also listed several demands, including a complete ban on India’s Got Latent, an FIR against Allahbadia, Raina, and other individuals involved, and stronger regulations for digital content creators to prevent similar incidents from occurring.

The controversy began when Allahbadia, known for his YouTube channel BeerBiceps, made inappropriate remarks during an episode of India’s Got Latent. His comments were widely criticized by viewers, with many finding them offensive and distasteful. Following the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting that his remarks were both inappropriate and lacking in humor. He expressed regret over the incident and promised to use his platform more responsibly moving forward.

Despite the apology, the situation has sparked significant public outrage, leading to a formal complaint being filed with the Mumbai Police. A team of officers visited Allahbadia’s residence to investigate the matter, and a legal complaint was filed against Allahbadia, Raina, and others involved in the show for using offensive language and spreading obscenity. The Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission have also received formal complaints, calling for action against those responsible.

In response, Allahbadia requested that the producers of India’s Got Latent remove the offensive sections from the episode. However, the damage to his reputation and the controversy surrounding the show have led to calls for stronger digital content regulations and a thorough investigation into the matter.

The fallout from the incident has brought attention to the power of content creators and the impact of digital platforms on shaping public discourse, with many urging more responsibility from influencers and creators in the content they produce.
