Ajay Devgan reveals that his Dad Veeru Devgan Was a ‘Gangster’ !

Ajay Devgn disclosed on the most recent episode of the well-liked chat show “Koffee with Karan” how his father, the late action director Veeru Devgan, began his career and was formerly a street “gangster.” Ajay was spotted on the “Koffee” couch alongside director Rohit Shetty. “Do you think your father such a celebrated loved man Veeru Devgan that time in the industry got his dues that he truly deserved?” host Karan Johar posed to Ajay.

Ajay said, “Eventually,” as he began telling his father’s story right away. At the age of thirteen, Veeru Devgan fled his home in ancient Punjab when he first started. He arrived in Bombay without a train ticket and was incarcerated. He had no job and no food to sustain himself. Ajay went on to say that Veeru was once asked to wash his taxi every day if he wanted to sleep in it, which was a helpful gesture.From there, Veeru Devgan began his journey towards becoming a carpenter.

After that, he joined the Sion-Koliwada area gang. There were gang wars and he worked as a carpenter as well. There was a street fight going on one day when Mr. Ravi Khanna, a very senior action director, was passing by. After the argument, he pulled over and called my dad. When I asked him what he did for a living, he replied, “I’m a carpenter.” He turned him into a fighter by saying, “Tu ladta acha hai, come and meet me tomorrow.” Thus, that’s Veeru’s origin story “Ajay continued.

Known for his action films, Veeru Devgan directed over 200 films, including Mr. Natwarlal, Phool aur Kaante, Lal Baadshah, and many more. The film ‘Hindustan Ki Kasam’ marked his directorial debut in 1999. The main actors in the movie were Amitabh Bachchan, Manisha Koirala, and Ajay Devgn. Ajay’s upcoming roles include “Maidaan,” a sports drama film from producer Boney Kapoor, “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” an untitled supernatural thriller film from director Vikas Bahl, and “Singham Again,” a film directed by Rohit Shetty.
