The much-anticipated sequel to the 2012 blockbuster ‘Son of Sardaar’ has officially begun production, and the excitement is palpable. Ajay Devgn, the star and producer of the film, along with his co-star Mrunal Thakur, kicked off the shooting of ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ with a traditional Muhurat ceremony in the UK. The joyous occasion was marked by prayers, dancing, and a display of Punjabi culture, setting a vibrant tone for the project.

Ajay Devgn took to Instagram to share the thrilling news with his fans. He posted a video capturing the essence of the ceremony, beginning with heartfelt prayers to seek blessings for the film’s success. The video also featured Ajay’s son, Yug Devgan, who posed with the film’s clapboard, adding a touch of familial warmth to the event.

In the video, Ajay is seen donning a turban, reminiscent of his character from the original film, hinting at a continuation of the beloved persona. Mrunal Thakur, the new addition to the cast, enlivened the set with her enthusiastic participation, playing the dhol and wearing traditional Punjabi attire. Her presence brought an infectious energy, reflecting the film’s vibrant spirit.

Ajay captioned the Instagram post, “The journey of #SonOfSardaar2 begins with prayers, blessings, and an amazing team.” This announcement has heightened the anticipation for the sequel, which promises to deliver the same blend of action, comedy, and cultural celebration that made the original a hit.

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ is set to have an extensive shooting schedule in the UK, followed by additional filming in India. The original ‘Son of Sardaar’, directed by Ashwani Dhir, featured Ajay Devgn alongside Sonakshi Sinha. The film told the story of Jassi, a man who returns to his ancestral village in Punjab and finds himself entangled in a family feud.
