Ajay Devgn Hasn’t Spoken To Me In 18 Years, Says Anubhav Sinha: “I Did Text Him, But Never Got a Response”

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha reveals that despite multiple attempts to reconnect, Ajay Devgn hasn’t spoken to him in 18 years. However, he still praises Devgn as a dependable friend and an actor he admires.

February 11, 2025: Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, known for films like Article 15 and Mulk, has made a shocking revelation about his strained equation with Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Sinha disclosed that he hasn’t spoken to Devgn in 18 years, despite making repeated efforts to reconnect.

No Fallout, But No Communication Either

Sinha and Devgn previously collaborated on the 2007 action-thriller Cash. While rumors had suggested that a fallout over a song led to their lack of communication, Sinha denied any such conflict.

“There was no fight. He just doesn’t talk to me,” Sinha candidly admitted.

The director further elaborated, saying, “I texted him a couple of times but never got a response. I told myself maybe he missed my messages. But yes, it’s been about 18 years since we last spoke.”

No Creative Differences During Cash

When asked if their silence stemmed from creative differences on Cash, Sinha clarified that any issues were between the producer and the financier—not with Devgn himself. “There was no disagreement over any song, at least not that I know of,” he stated.

Despite the Silence, Anubhav Sinha Praises Ajay Devgn

Even though Devgn has remained unresponsive, Sinha still holds him in high regard, calling him a reliable and loyal friend.

“Ajay is yaaron ka yaar—he’ll be the first one to help a friend in need.”

Sinha also speculated whether his political remarks over the years may have played a role in their silence. “Maybe I said something about him. But I wasn’t targeting just him. I’ve said things about many people and still have good relationships with them,” he added.

Despite their long-standing silence, Sinha reaffirmed his respect and admiration for Devgn. “I truly admire him as an actor and as an individual,” he concluded.
