May 29, 2025: While star kids are making waves with their Bollywood debuts, Ajay Devgn and Kajol’s daughter, Nysa, isn’t in a hurry to join the limelight.
At the trailer launch of Kajol’s upcoming film Maa, held in Mumbai, Ajay Devgn responded candidly when asked if their daughter Nysa was considered for a role in the film’s mythological horror setting.

“At the moment, she is not interested in this kind of work,” Ajay said, putting rest to any speculation about Nysa’s acting debut.
The event saw the star couple engaging warmly with the media, offering insights into the emotionally charged narrative of Maa.
Kajol, reflecting on the film’s powerful themes, shared how portraying a mother’s pain hit close to home:
“It’s any parent’s worst nightmare — to lose their child. I normally keep emotions in check during a shot, but subconsciously, this one made the tears come easier. It felt so real, so personal.”
‘Maa’, directed by Vishal Furia, is set for a theatrical release on June 27. The film also features Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma. Furia, known for Chhorii, clarified that while both films explore motherhood, Maa ventures into a much grander spiritual and cinematic territory.
“The only similarity is that both are stories of mothers,” said Furia.
“But in Maa, we’re invoking Maa Kali — a far more powerful entity. It’s a bigger world, designed as a theatrical experience. You can’t watch this on OTT — it demands the big screen.”
As fans await the film’s release, one thing is clear: while Kajol continues to evolve on screen, Nysa is charting her own path — for now, away from Bollywood.
