May 5, 2025: Actor Ajaz Khan has been booked by the Charkop Police after a woman filed a complaint accusing him of rape under the pretext of marriage and a role in his reality web show House Arrest, which streams on the Ullu app.

According to the FIR, Khan allegedly invited the woman to be a host on the show and proposed to her during the shoot. He is further accused of promising to convert to her religion and marry her. The complainant stated that Khan later called her to his residence and sexually assaulted her.

Police have registered the case under Sections 64, 64(2)(M), 69, and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is underway.

Ajaz Khan, known for frequent controversies, has recently faced backlash for the House Arrest show. Critics, including political and social groups, have condemned the content as vulgar and coercive. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned both Khan and Ullu App CEO Vibhu Agarwal to appear on May 9 in connection with the show’s content.

This comes amid a broader legal push to regulate obscene content on OTT and social media platforms. Last month, the Supreme Court issued notices to major streaming platforms and tech companies, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Meta, and Google, in response to a PIL demanding stricter content oversight.
