Actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan has launched a scathing attack on comedian Samay Raina following a controversial joke about Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek Bachchan.
The row erupted after Raina released his YouTube special, Still Alive, where he shared a sharp “intrusive thought” he had while sitting across Big B on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
In the viral clip, Raina joked about the senior Bachchan’s extensive polio awareness campaigns, saying, “Sir, aapne itna polio ka ad kiya, phir bhi apne bete ko paon pe kyu nahi khada kar paye” (Sir, you did so many polio ads, yet why couldn’t you make your son stand on his own feet?). While Raina clarified in the special that he chose not to say this to the superstar’s face, the joke has sparked a massive backlash from fans and industry figures alike.
Reacting to the video on Thursday, a furious Ajaz Khan didn’t mince words while speaking to the paparazzi in Mumbai. Calling Raina a “badtameez aadmi” (ill-mannered man), Khan warned that the comedian’s “bad time” had begun. “I am a huge fan of Bachchan Sahab. Don’t even show your face to me; wherever I see you, I will check your ears (threat of physical confrontation),” Khan said. He further questioned Raina’s upbringing, suggesting he might treat his own parents with similar disrespect.
The controversy comes just as Samay Raina was revisiting the fallout of his 2025 India’s Got Latent scandal. Adding fuel to the fire, veteran actor Mukesh Khanna also slammed the comedian, comparing his persistence with edgy humor to a “dog’s crooked tail.” While the internet remains divided between those defending the “freedom of comedy” and those demanding respect for cinematic icons, Raina has yet to officially respond to Khan’s public threats.
