The attack, which occurred on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese citizen.​

At the event, Akshay addressed the audience, stating, “Even today, we feel the same anger. All of you know exactly what I am talking about.
