January 14, 2025: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar celebrated Makar Sankranti on the sets of his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla in Rajasthan, sharing a cheerful moment with fans on social media.

In a video posted on Instagram, Akshay is seen flying a kite with his co-star Paresh Rawal. He captioned the video, “Celebrating the vibrant spirit of Makar Sankranti on the set of #BhoothBangla with my dear friend @pareshrawalofficial! Makar Sankranti, celebrated annually on January 14, is marked by the tradition of flying kites, believed to awaken the gods after their winter rest. Akshay’s post reflects the joy and excitement of the festival, which is widely observed across India.

Regarding his upcoming film, Bhooth Bangla is a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, with Akshay Kumar reuniting with the filmmaker after 14 years. The film also stars Tabu, who recently shared her excitement about joining the cast on Instagram. Bhooth Bangla marks the return of Akshay and Priyadarshan, who previously collaborated on successful films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Tabu, known for her versatile performances in films like Andhadhun and Haider, is expected to bring a unique depth to the film. Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, along with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla is set to release on April 2, 2026.
