
Akshay Kumar Reveals Exciting Update On 'Kesari 2' On The 6th Anniversary Of Its Hit Prequel
March 21, 2025: Actor Akshay Kumar’s blockbuster film Kesari has marked its sixth anniversary, and to commemorate the occasion, the actor has dropped an exciting update about the long-awaited sequel, Kesari 2. The 2019 film, which continues to be a fan favorite, is all set to return with even more intense battle sequences and captivating storytelling.
On the anniversary of Kesari’s release, Akshay Kumar shared a special video clip from the film on social media, showcasing some of the intense battle scenes featuring the Kesari warriors. The actor celebrated the film’s success by posting, “Celebrating 6 years of Kesari. Celebrating the spirit of Kesari. Celebrating a new chapter that begins…soon!” His post left fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
In the clip, the actor teased that Kesari 2 is on its way, with a major update to follow the next day. While the sequel was originally slated for a Holi release, Kesari 2 is now scheduled to hit theaters in April 2025.
Unlike the original Kesari, which focused on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi, the sequel will present a new storyline. It will focus on India’s prominent barrister, C Sankaran Nair, who fought the British Raj to uncover the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Alongside Akshay Kumar, Kesari 2 will feature R Madhavan and Ananya Pandey in key roles, with Karan Singh Tyagi directing the film.
