Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' First Look and Trailer Announcement Revealed
The much-awaited film Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar, is set to unveil its trailer on June 18. On Friday, the makers released the first-look poster, featuring Akshay in a bearded look, gazing away from the camera. The poster’s tagline reads, “Dream so big, they call you crazy.”
Akshay shared the poster on Instagram with the caption, “The story of a man who dared to dream big! And for me this is a story, a character, a film, an opportunity of a lifetime! #Sarfira trailer out on 18th June. Catch Sarfira on 12th July, only in cinemas.”
Recently, a video of Akshay and Radhika Madan went viral on social media. In the video, the two actors, along with two others, are seen grooving to the music, seemingly from the set of Sarfira.
Sarfira is a remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. The film’s title was announced in February, and it is scheduled for release on July 12, 2024. Akshay also shared a short teaser on Instagram, captioned, “Dream so Big, they call you Crazy! #Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024.”
The film features Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas in pivotal roles. Director Sudha Kongara expressed her excitement, stating, “With ‘Sarfira,’ we have aimed to craft a musical marvel that not only entertains but also leaves a lasting impact on the viewers’ hearts. The soundtrack is diverse and will connect with fans across segments.”
Sarfira is set in the world of startups and aviation, inspiring viewers to chase their dreams, even if the world calls them crazy. It tells a uniquely Indian story of grit, determination, and jugaad, challenging the socio-economic fabric of a system entrenched in class, caste, and power dynamics.
National award winner Sudha Kongara, who previously directed Irudhi Suttru, Saala Khadoos, and Soorarai Pottru, directs the film. The screenplay is by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues by Pooja Tolani, and music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment), and Vikram Malhotra.
South actor Suriya, who played the lead role in Soorarai Pottru, will also make a guest appearance in Sarfira.
