Akshay releases lined up this year

This year is another eventful year for actor, Akshay Kumar, as he has several films either released or ready for release.

Akshay started the year with the release of the much hyped ‘Bade Miya Chote Miya’ with Tiger Shroff on April-11. Though the film gross over a Rs.100/- crore globally, it was unable to recover its production cost of Rs.350/- Crores and is being considered a flop.

Next in terms of release date is the film ‘Sarfira’ staring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan. It is directed by Sudha Kongara. The film will be released on July-12 and tells the story of a man who dreams so big that people start calling him crazy. It is a remake of 2020 Suriya starrer ‘Soorarai Pottru’, which was based on the life of G. R. Gopinath, the founder of Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan.

He will next be seen in ‘Singham Again’. Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’ has a massive line-up of stars including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. While the plot is under wraps, it will get its theatrical release on August-15. This mega multi-starrer film is keenly awaited.

‘Sky Force’ stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. Directed by Abhishek Kapur and Sandeep Kelwani, the story is based on true events. Akshay plays the role of Indian Air Force Officer and the film celebrates one of the biggest victories of Indian Air Force. The release for the film has been fixed for October-02.

‘Khel Khel Mein’ hits the theatres on Nov-19. Staring Akshay Kumar, Tapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk is Directed by Mudassar Aziz. According to the makers, this comedy film will be a rollercoaster ride of laughter, drama & loads of fun!

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ directed by Ahmed Khan has Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Frenandez, Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and many more as star cast. The film will hit the theatres in time for Christmas, on December-20. It is the 3rd film of the ‘Welcome’ franchise.

Apart from this he will also be seen in a Telugu film titled ‘Kannapa’ that will hit the theatres on May-14. Kannappa is a Telugu fantasy drama movie directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. Akshay Kumar is believed to be playing an important role in the film.
