Akshaye Khanna’s Viral FA9LA Step Mirrors Vinod Khanna’s Iconic Move! WATCH

A viral old video shows Vinod Khanna performing a step strikingly similar to Akshaye’s spontaneous dance in Dhurandhar, prompting fans to call it a hidden tribute.

December 10, 2025: Akshaye Khanna’s electrifying, improvised dance entry in the song ‘FA9LA’ from the film Dhurandhar has become a massive social media sensation, but the excitement has now reached new heights with the discovery of an uncanny resemblance to a dance move by his late father, the legendary Vinod Khanna.

An old video of Vinod Khanna from a 1989 charity concert in Lahore has gone viral, showing the veteran actor performing a subtle, rhythmic move with his shoulders and arms—a step strikingly similar to the one Akshaye spontaneously performed in the film.

The Spontaneous Move Goes Viral

Akshaye Khanna’s magnetic portrayal of the antagonist, Rehman Dakait, has been unanimously praised, with his entry scene, set to Flipperachi’s hit track ‘FA9LA,’ being singled out as a highlight. The hook step, characterized by its minimal yet commanding swagger, has prompted countless reels and memes online.

Interestingly, the film’s choreographer, Vijay Ganguly, revealed that the viral dance step was entirely impromptu and not part of the original plan.

Ganguly explained, “The song is a celebration of Akshaye’s character being crowned as the Sher-E-Baloch. Originally, he was supposed to enter, walk through the dancers, and sit on the throne.”

However, Akshaye Khanna had other plans. “Seeing the scene’s mood and the dancers’ performance, the fantastic actor that Akshaye is, he said he would dance a bit when he walks in. None of us knew what he was going to do. Akshaye entered the scene, took it from that point, and spontaneously performed,” the choreographer said, adding that the entire segment was shot flawlessly in just two hours.

Fans See a Subconscious Tribute

The accidental similarity between the father and son’s moves has sparked an emotional reaction among fans, who are calling it a “hereditary” talent and a subconscious tribute to Vinod Khanna’s classic, effortless rhythm.

Akshaye Khanna’s screen presence, particularly his magnetic aura and subtle acting in Dhurandhar, has cemented his position as a standout performer of the year, alongside his co-stars Ranveer Singh and R. Madhavan.
