Artist Alexandra Grant addressed and denied widespread rumours that she had secretly wed long-time partner, Keanu Reeves, during a European trip.
September 25, 2025: On Wednesday, visual artist Alexandra Grant took to social media to definitively shut down rumours that she and Keanu Reeves had secretly married. Grant shared a genuine photo of the couple kissing on a staircase, holding hands and smiling, to dispel the “fake news” of a private ceremony that had been circulating.
The Real Photo vs. Fake News
Grant explicitly clarified the nature of the photo and the location:
“This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss! We’re at Roden Crater, and Keanu and I had just finished interviewing James Turrell for Visionaries.”
She thanked fans for their warm well wishes but stressed that the wedding reports were false, encouraging caution regarding “fake news” online. Roden Crater is the location of a massive, unfinished celestial light installation by artist James Turrell in the Arizona desert.
Keanu and Alexandra’s Love Story
Grant and Reeves first met in 2009 and their friendship evolved into a creative partnership, co-authoring the books Ode to Happiness and Shadows. They made their relationship public in 2019, marking the first time in two decades that Reeves openly shared his private life.
Friends describe Grant as a “steady presence” in Reeves’ life, crediting her for bringing him comfort and stability following profound personal tragedies, including the loss of his baby and the subsequent death of his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Syme.
