The show, set in Delhi, is inspired by one of the most infamous and shocking crimes in the city’s history—the Ranga-Billa murder case.

The series aims to offer a detailed look at the 1978 case that involved the brutal kidnapping and murder of siblings Geeta and Sanjay Chopra. The children were abducted by Kuljeet Singh (known as Ranga) and Jasbir Singh (known as Billa), who had originally intended to steal a car but changed their plans when they discovered the children inside. The crime sent shockwaves across the nation, leading to public outrage and playing a crucial role in shaping stricter laws surrounding kidnapping and child safety.

While the makers have yet to confirm the exact details of the show’s storyline, the series promises an investigative approach to the case, showcasing the aftermath of the crime and its profound impact on Delhi. The team has been conducting extensive research into the case, ensuring the series is treated with sensitivity while aiming to highlight the emotional and social repercussions of the tragedy.

Filming is currently taking place across various locations in Delhi, with the series being one of the first scripted adaptations of the Ranga-Billa case. Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre take on the lead roles, promising a compelling and intense portrayal of one of India’s most chilling real-life cases.

The show is expected to offer a gripping narrative as it explores the events that followed the murders, highlighting the investigation and its emotional toll on the community.
