May 25, 2025: As Alia Bhatt continues to make waves at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, dazzling fans around the world with her style and grace, it’s the perfect moment to revisit a story as iconic as her red carpet appearances—her real-life fairytale romance with Ranbir Kapoor.

For years, Alia was open about her admiration for the Kapoor heartthrob. From candid interviews to light-hearted confessions on Karan Johar’s chat show, Alia never shied away from revealing that Ranbir had always been her biggest crush. But what started as a one-sided admiration blossomed into one of Bollywood’s most cherished love stories—filled with destiny, serendipity, and plenty of blushing moments.

During the promotions of their much-awaited fantasy drama Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva in 2022, Ranbir and Alia peeled back the curtain on their love story. In a now-viral clip, Ranbir Kapoor revealed a forgotten chapter: the first time he and Alia ever met. “Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had done a small photoshoot because he wanted to make a film called Balika Vadhu,” Ranbir shared. “I was assisting him. I was around 20, and she was just 9.”

Though nothing sparked then, fate had other plans. Years later, during a flight to prep for Brahmāstra, Ranbir finally made his move. Alia revealed, “We kept meeting socially, but nothing ever happened. Then this one flight changed everything—he started flirting.” With a knowing smile, Ranbir confirmed, “I flirted.”

And just like that, a love story began.

From that flight to a wedding bathed in golden sunlight in 2022, Alia and Ranbir have been building a life rooted in friendship, admiration, and love. Their wedding photos, simple yet deeply emotional, melted hearts across social media. Now proud parents, their journey has only deepened with time.

Under the resurfaced video of their story, fans couldn’t help but swoon. One wrote, “She truly loved him,” while another joked, “Why am I blushing harder than Alia?” One comment simply read: “Naseeb badi chiz hoti hai.”

And the story doesn’t end there. On the work front, the power couple is set to reunite for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, and will return for Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev, continuing their on-screen magic.

In an age of fleeting headlines and celebrity splits, the Ranbir-Alia love story remains a reminder that some romances are just meant to be.
