‘Alice in Borderland’ Season 3 Gets Release Date: Arisu Returns to the Deadly Realm on Sept 25

The highly anticipated third season of Alice in Borderland premieres September 25 on Netflix, with Arisu and Usagi drawn back into the mysterious and deadly alternate world.

Washington DC [US], July 8 – Netflix has finally revealed the release date for the much-awaited Season 3 of Japanese sci-fi thriller Alice in Borderland, dropping a gripping new teaser and confirming the return of beloved characters Arisu and Usagi. Set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 25, the third season promises a darker dive into the mind-bending world between life and death — continuing the adaptation of Haro Aso’s acclaimed manga.

The wait is almost over for fans of the intense Japanese thriller Alice in Borderland, as Season 3 of the hit series is officially set to premiere on September 25, exclusively on Netflix. Accompanying the release date is a tantalizing new teaser that brings viewers back into the twisted world of survival games and psychological suspense.

Adapted from Haro Aso’s bestselling manga, Alice in Borderland first gained massive international popularity with its fast-paced narrative and gripping visuals. Season 2 debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list for non-English TV shows, cementing the series as one of the most successful live-action manga adaptations on the platform.

Returning for Season 3 is director Shinsuke Sato, who reunites with lead stars Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi — the resilient couple who survived the brutal games of Borderland in Season 2. But peace is short-lived.

According to the official synopsis, the third season picks up with Arisu and Usagi now married and seemingly living a tranquil life. However, they are haunted by recurring visions and dreams of the Borderland — the dangerous alternate reality where survival is a game. The story takes a sharp turn when Usagi mysteriously disappears, led back into the Borderland by a man named Ryuji (played by Kento Kaku), who is studying the afterlife.

A distraught Arisu receives a visit from Banda, now a resident of the Borderland, who informs him of Usagi’s location. Determined to find her, Arisu must return to the terrifying world he believed they had escaped — a place where new enemies, fresh puzzles, and higher stakes await.

The returning cast includes Hayato Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Katsuya Maiguma, while new faces joining the deadly game include Koji Ohkura, Risa Sudou, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu, and Yugo Mikawa, among others.

The series is developed and produced by Robot, with The Seven providing production cooperation. Key creatives returning include screenplay writers Yasuko Kuramitsu and Shinsuke Sato, composer Yutaka Yamada, cinematographer Taro Kawazu, and production designers Iwao Saito and Shin Nakayama.

Yuji Shimomura returns as action director, with Atsushi Doi overseeing VFX and Akira Morii and Tomoki Takase serving as producers.

With its blend of high-stakes action, psychological depth, and philosophical undertones about life and mortality, Alice in Borderland Season 3 is poised to be the series’ most thrilling chapter yet.
