Netflix has released the highly anticipated trailer for Alice in Borderland Season 3, revealing that Arisu and Usagi have been pulled back into the deadly games. The new season will feature a completely original story, going beyond the manga for the first time.
August 28, 2025: Netflix has now released the highly awaited trailer for Alice in Borderland Season 3. It promises a voyage that is darker, bolder, and more unpredictable than ever before.

The new season returns back fan-favorite characters Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya), but this time they are thrown back into the cruel Borderland by the advent of the Joker card.
The trailer hints that the couple’s hard-won freedom at the end of Season 2 won’t last long. When they come back to the real world, they are pulled back into a world of dangerous games and broken alliances. A stunning new narrative twist shows that Usagi is kidnapped by a strange researcher who is obsessed with the afterlife. This forces Arisu to go back into the dangerous Borderland to save her.
This season is very different from the source material. The first two seasons were quite faithful to Haro Aso’s manga, but Season 3 goes in a new direction with a screenplay written by Yasuko Kuramitsu and directed by Shinsuke Sato. The show promises to add to the universe while preserving its main themes of survival and identity.
Star Tao Tsuchiya said she watched prior episodes again to get ready for Usagi’s growth. “I thought it was important to keep in mind everything that has happened so far when I took on this role,” she added. “Season 3 has an original story.” Yamazaki also hinted at the high-stakes group dynamics and a shrine battle scene that fans will recall from the manga but that would happen in a different way on the program.
Hayato Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Katsuya Maiguma are also back, along with Yamazaki and Tsuchiya. Along with them, there are a lot of new performers, such as Koji Ohkura, Kotaro Daigo, Tina Tamashiro, and Kento Kaku, who will play the mysterious scholar Ryuji.
The clip shows two scary scenes: a battle at a temple with flaming arrows and a survival game based on dice. All of this makes for what should be one of Netflix Japan’s most exciting seasons yet. The third season of Alice in Borderland will only be available on Netflix starting September 25, 2025.
