Court Defers Bail Plea Hearing to December 30

December 28, 2024: Actor Allu Arjun appeared virtually before a local court on Friday in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, citing security concerns and avoiding potential inconvenience to the public.

The case pertains to a tragic incident during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ on December 4, where a 35-year-old woman lost her life, and her 8-year-old son sustained injuries in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad.

Legal Developments:

  • Allu Arjun was initially arrested on December 13 and remanded to 14-day judicial custody by the Nampally court.
  • He was released on interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14.
  • The bail plea hearing was scheduled for Friday, but the police sought additional time, resulting in the hearing being deferred to December 30.

Security Concerns:
The actor’s decision to appear via video conference was driven by security reasons and concerns about public inconvenience due to large crowds at the court premises.
