Allu Arjun's Bail Hearing in Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case Deferred to January 3
December 31, 2024: Hyderabad’s Nampally District Court has deferred the bail hearing of actor Allu Arjun in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case to January 3. The tragic incident occurred on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule when an overwhelming crowd surged to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun as he greeted fans from his car’s sunroof. The chaos resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi and left her son, Sri Tej, critically injured.
Allu Arjun was initially arrested following the incident but was granted interim bail upon furnishing a ₹50,000 bond.
Sri Tej, the injured child, showed signs of recovery after 20 days in critical care. His father, Bhaskar, expressed gratitude towards Allu Arjun and the Telangana government for their support.

Producer Allu Aravind announced ₹2 crore in financial assistance for the affected family. The contribution included ₹1 crore from Allu Arjun, ₹50 lakh from the film’s producers, and ₹50 lakh from the director.
Speaking to the media, Allu Aravind shared updates on the child’s condition: “Doctors are optimistic about Sri Tej’s recovery. He is now breathing independently without a ventilator.”
While the bail hearing awaits its next session, the case has sparked public debate about accountability and crowd management during high-profile film events.
As the legal proceedings continue, the focus remains on the well-being of the injured child and measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
