Telangana Police To Challenge Interim Bail in Supreme Court

December 18, 2024: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun may face fresh legal trouble as the Telangana Police are reportedly preparing to move theSupreme Court to challenge the interim bail granted to him. This development comes in the wake of the tragic incident at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during a Pushpa 2: The Rule promotional event.

When Was Allu Arjun Arrested?

Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, following a stampede at Sandhya Theatre that claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left her 9-year-old son with severe injuries. The chaos erupted when a massive crowd gathered to see the actor, who attended the event alongside music director Devi Sri Prasad. The theatre’s main gate reportedly collapsed during the commotion, leading to the tragedy.

The actor was taken into custody from his residence and placed in 14-day judicial custody. He was later granted interim bail for four weeks on a personal bond of ₹50,000, though delays in processing paperwork caused him to spend a night in jail.

Allu Arjun’s Statement After Bail

Upon his release, Allu Arjun expressed deep remorse for the tragedy, calling it “very unfortunate.”

“This incident was very unfortunate, we are extremely sorry for what happened. We are with the family, and I am here to support them in every way possible. I thank everyone for their understanding.”

Why Allu Arjun Did Not Visit the Victim’s Family

Addressing criticisms about not visiting the family of the deceased, Allu Arjun explained that his legal team had advised him to avoid doing so during the ongoing proceedings.

“I remain deeply concerned about young Sri Tej, who is under constant medical care. Due to the ongoing legal matters, I have been advised not to visit him and his family at this time. However, I remain committed to supporting their medical and family needs. My prayers are with them, and I hope to meet them soon.”
