Aly Goni Expresses Concern For Family In Jammu Amid Cross-Border Attacks

Taking to Instagram, Aly wrote, “Sleepless and shattered, stuck out of India as my family in Jammu endures last night’s attack. My whole family, children, and parents face the terror of drones and unrest, yet some people glorify this war from the comfort of their homes, posting on social media. It’s not that easy for those near the border.”

He extended his gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces, stating, “Thanks to our IAF and Indian Army. Praying for safety and peace.”

Aly’s emotional appeal comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, India’s precision strikes on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

On the intervening night of May 8 and 9, the Pakistani military launched a coordinated assault using drones and heavy munitions across the western border and the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian Army reported successfully repelling the attacks and giving a “befitting reply” to the ceasefire violations.

In a statement, the Indian Army said, “Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire Western Border. Pakistani troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations along the LoC. The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and a strong response was given.”

Defence officials credited the Akash surface-to-air missile system with playing a key role in thwarting the aerial threats. The missile system, developed indigenously, has been deployed by both the Indian Army and Air Force to reinforce border security.
