The Frasier star, already a father of seven, prepares to welcome another baby as he reflects on fatherhood’s joys and regrets
June 18, 2025 – Kelsey Grammer is preparing for fatherhood once again—this time at the age of 70. The Frasier and Cheers star is expecting his eighth child with wife Kayte Walsh, 46, after she debuted her baby bump during a casual outing in London on June 14.

Photos obtained by People show Kayte strolling through the city in a black sundress, proudly displaying her pregnancy glow.
She and Kelsey already share three children together: Faith (12), Gabriel (10), and James (8).
A Growing Family Over Four Decades

“The Happiest I Am Is When They’re All Together”
Despite his busy career, Kelsey has long embraced his role as a father. In a 2024 interview with Variety, he said:
“The happiest I ever am is if all my children are in the same room together.”
He added that his acting career has afforded him the opportunity to be present, even amid its challenges.
“It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic—all those things. But boy, it’s a great life.”
Proud Dad, But Open About Past Regrets

Grammer also candidly admitted he’s not always been the perfect father.
“I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two,” he told People in 2024.
“I’m trying to make up for a little of it now.”
Now, with more experience and perspective, he’s committed to showing up—no matter his age.
“I’m still their dad, so you always have a chance to show up.”
Next Generation of Performers?
Several of Kelsey’s children are already drawn to the entertainment industry. Kayte recently told him it’s something to be proud of.
“To think that all my kids… are drawn to this industry. That’s something to be proud of,” Grammer said.
As he prepares to welcome another child, Kelsey Grammer is not just building a legacy onscreen—but also within the growing circle of his ever-expanding family.
