Ameesha Patel Calls Warrant ‘Old, Settled Matter’

Actor denies fresh allegations in 2017 Moradabad cheque dispute

February 17, 2026: Actor Ameesha Patel has responded to reports of a non-bailable warrant issued by a court in Moradabad in connection with a 2017 event-related dispute. In an Instagram post, she stated that the matter involving event organiser Pawan Verma was “very, very old” and had already been settled years ago. Patel claimed that Verma had signed a settlement deed and received the agreed amount, alleging that fresh proceedings contain false accusations. She added that her lawyers are initiating criminal action against him while she remains focused on her work.

According to reports, the case stems from a complaint filed by Verma, who alleged that Patel was booked for a wedding performance in Moradabad on November 16, 2017, for an advance payment of Rs 14.50 lakh. He claimed that while Rs 10 lakh was returned in cash, a cheque of Rs 4.50 lakh allegedly bounced, prompting him to seek legal recourse. The dispute was heard in the Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division) court in Moradabad.

Reports further suggested that the court issued a non-bailable warrant after Patel allegedly failed to appear despite multiple summons. However, the actor has dismissed the claims, maintaining that the matter was resolved long ago and accusing the complainant of attempting to create a “public spectacle.” The legal proceedings are now expected to continue as both sides pursue their respective claims.
