Amitabh Bachchan Defends Abhishek Against Nepotism Criticism, Lauds His Talent And Grace

March 5, 2025: Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has publicly expressed his support for his son, Abhishek Bachchan, amidst the ongoing discussions about nepotism in Bollywood. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Amitabh shared heartfelt responses to fans defending his son against the negativity often associated with the term “nepotism.”

In a response to one fan who pointed out that Abhishek had been unfairly subjected to criticism despite his strong filmography, Amitabh agreed, writing, “I feel the same… and not just because I am his father.”

Amitabh also praised his son’s evolving performances in his career. When the trailer for Abhishek’s upcoming film Be Happy was shared, Amitabh responded with admiration for his son’s dedication and versatility, writing, “Abhishek, you are extraordinary. How you adapt and change with each film character is an art, which is incredible. Love you, Bhaiyu.”

Beyond his acting, Amitabh also took the opportunity to compliment Abhishek’s style and presence, emphasizing his son’s understated elegance. Responding to a fan’s video of Abhishek at an event where he was lauded for his appearance, Amitabh commented, “Superior… Abhishek… stunning… Abhishek… the walk, the grace, and THE STYLE… and no fuss, just a normal being… away from the unnecessary display of excitement or attention-seeking.”

This public show of affection from Amitabh comes as no surprise, given his long history of praising Abhishek’s work. Earlier, after the release of Abhishek’s film I Want to Talk, Amitabh shared on his personal blog how deeply affected he was by his son’s portrayal of the character Arjun Sen. Amitabh expressed that Abhishek’s performance transcended his real-life identity, saying, “Abhishek… you are not Abhishek… you are ARJUN SEN of the film. Let them say what they say.”

As Amitabh continues to host the 16th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Abhishek is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Be Happy, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video next week.

The Bachchan family’s bond is always evident in their public exchanges, and Amitabh’s continued support for his son is a testament to the strength of their relationship, especially in the face of media scrutiny and public debate.
