Amitabh Bachchan Hits Back At Trolls Mocking His Cybercrime Caller Tune

June 22, 2025: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan recently silenced trolls on X (formerly Twitter) with witty and powerful comebacks, proving that age is no barrier when it comes to standing your ground online. The veteran actor, who has lent his voice to a government-approved cybercrime awareness caller tune, has faced criticism and trolling over the initiative — but Big B had the perfect response.

For context, the caller tune — which warns users about phishing scams, online fraud, and identity theft — features Bachchan’s voice and is part of a national campaign to educate citizens about digital safety. Despite the good intent, some social media users found it annoying and targeted the actor personally.

On Monday, Big B posted a cryptic tweet, saying, “Ji haan huzoor, main bhi ek prashansak hoon. Toh?? (Yes sir, I’m a fan too. So??)”. One user mocked the cybercrime tune saying, “Toh phone pe bolna band kro bhay (Then stop saying it on the phone),” to which Bachchan calmly replied, “Sarkar ko bolo bhai, unhone jo kaha humne kar diya (Tell the government, I just followed their instructions).”

Another troll called him “buddha sathiya gaya hai (the old man has gone senile),” prompting Big B to respond, “Ek din, Bhagwan naa kare voh din jaldi aaye, jab aap bhi sathiya jaaye (One day, God forbid it comes soon, you too will age. But we say here, ‘Jo satha, wo patha’ — the older, the wiser).”

When an X user accused him of being under the influence of weed, Bachchan retorted sharply, “Only someone high on weed could write the way you just did.”

A particularly sarcastic comment compared his tweets to a faulty calculator with attitude, to which he responded, “Even your calculator is saying the same thing about you — overthinking!!!”

Upcoming Projects

Amitabh Bachchan recently impressed audiences with his performance as Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD. He is set to reprise the role in the sequel alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sequel is expected to begin filming in December. He is also starring in Section 84, a courtroom drama featuring Diana Penty and Nimrat Kaur. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
