Amitabh Bachchan Teases ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16’ with Behind-the-Scenes Photos

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is gearing up for another exciting season of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). On Thursday, Bachchan shared exclusive glimpses from the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, creating buzz among fans and followers.

In a black-and-white photo posted on social media platform X, Bachchan is seen on the show’s set, marking his return for the 16th season. The actor captioned the post, “T 5082 – BACK to KBC 16th season..”

In another candid shot, Bachchan is captured mid-run, highlighting his commitment to the show. He shared the image with the caption, “T 5083 – yes back and still no change in routine – the run is on.”

Sony TV, which airs the quiz show, also announced the return of KBC with a heartwarming promo. The teaser begins with a nostalgic speech by Amitabh Bachchan from the end of the last season, followed by a voiceover stating, “Har aarambh ka ant taye hai magar apnon ke pyar mein jo anand hai.. to har ant ke baad shubharambh nishchit hai..” This translates to, “Every beginning has an end, but the joy in the love of one’s own is such that after every end, a new beginning is certain.” Bachchan then responds, “Gunja jo aapke pyar ka shankhnaad, to aana padega fir” (“The sound of your love echoes, I will have to come again”).

Amitabh Bachchan has been hosting KBC since its inception in 2000, with the exception of the third season in 2006, when Shah Rukh Khan took over as host. The show’s return has been highly anticipated by fans.

On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the futuristic film Kalki 2898 AD, which premiered in June 2024. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is a sci-fi epic set in the year 2898 AD, inspired by Hindu scriptures. The cast includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani, with cameos from Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.

Bachchan is also busy with upcoming projects, including Vettaiyan, which features Rajinikanth, and the sequel Fakt Purusho Maate, a follow-up to the acclaimed film Fakt Mahilao Maate. In Fakt Purusho Maate, Bachchan plays the role of God, revisiting a character he portrayed in God Tussi Great Ho (2008). The film explores generational divides and the clash between tradition and modernity, and is set to release on August 15, 2024. Directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi, the movie stars Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara, and Darshan Jariwala.
