‘Anaconda’: Jack Black, Paul Rudd Starrer Gets Christmas 2025 Release

December 21, 2024: Jack Black and Paul Rudd are teaming up for a festive, high-energy treat in their upcoming film Anaconda, which blends comedy and horror and is set to hit theaters during Christmas 2025. The dynamic duo took to Instagram to share the news, delivering the announcement with their signature humor. In the video, Black and Rudd exchange playful hugs and jokes while giving fans a taste of what to expect.

“Hey, what’s up, people? We’re making a movie! Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in The Anaconda. There’s gonna be a big fu**ing snake, and it’s gonna rip!” Jack Black says, setting the tone for the wild ride ahead. Paul Rudd follows up with his usual charm: “You wanna get scared. You wanna laugh. You wanna celebrate with your friends. Or maybe you’re alone, feeling sad, but just want to forget about that. The Anaconda is coming out on Christmas 2025.”

Directed by Tom Gormican, known for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and co-written by Gormican and Kevin Etten, Anaconda promises a mix of humor, horror, and unexpected thrills. While plot details are still under wraps, early reports hint at a unique twist: a group of friends going through mid-life crises decide to remake their favorite childhood movie. Their jungle adventure, however, takes a terrifying turn as they encounter a massive anaconda. The film’s style is said to echo Gormican’s past work, blending absurd comedy with suspenseful, horror-infused moments.

Despite sharing the same name as the 1997 cult classic Anaconda starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Jon Voight, this new film will be entirely different, offering a fresh, meta take on the genre, according to reports from Variety.

The film is being produced by Brad Fuller and Andrew Form under their Fully Formed banner, with Black and Rudd both deeply involved in the production process. Given their close ties to Sony, especially through their roles in the Jumanji and Ghostbusters franchises, expectations are high for Anaconda to deliver an exciting, star-studded experience.

Fans can look forward to a movie that’s both terrifying and hilarious, making it a perfect holiday season treat for those who want to mix their thrills with laughs.
