‘Andhera’ Trailer Unveils a Chilling Psychological Horror with a Purpose
August 8, 2018, Mumbai: On Friday, the scary trailer for the new supernatural investigation show “Andhera” was out.
The eight episodes of this show promise to be a thrilling mix of psychological horror and investigative drama.
The show takes place in Mumbai and follows a suspenseful inquiry that starts when a young woman goes missing for no clear reason. Priya Bapat plays Inspector Kalpana Kadam, and Karanvir Malhotra plays Jay, a troubled medical student. They both are pulled into a dark world where reality and nightmare start to blend. As they dig further, they find terrifying secrets and a dark power that lurks in the shadows.
Prajakta Koli, Surveen Chawla, Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, and Pranay Pachauri are the main actors in the series.
Under the Excel Entertainment label, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Kassim Jagmagia, Mohit Shah, and Karan Anshuman made it.
Raaghav Dar is in charge of directing the show, and Gaurav Desai, Raaghav Dar, Chintan Sarda, and Karan Anshuman wrote it.
Raaghav, the filmmaker, said in a press release about the series, “The idea was never to rely on conventional horror tropes, but to explore fear as something far more psychological—something that comes from ambition, guilt, and the secrets we bury deep within.” We developed a universe where people’s decisions lead to terror and where science and the supernatural meet in unsettling ways. Andhera is really about the darkness we all have inside us, even if we don’t know it. We wanted to show the inner chaos in this series while simultaneously giving you a thrilling trip that kept you on the edge of your seat. Yes, it’s scary, but it has a point and a pulse that seems real.
Prajakta Koli, who plays a prominent role in the series, said, “I was immediately interested in the world of Andhera.” It’s a psychological horror story, but at its heart, it’s about staying true to yourself, staying true to the truth, and staying alive.
“My character is impulsive, brave, and often doubtful, but she is also very impacted by things she can’t understand. It’s been an extraordinary experience to be a part of a story that is both scary and full of emotions. “I really can’t wait for people to get drawn into this world and see how the mystery slowly unfolds,” she said.
On August 14, “Andhera” will be available on Prime Video.
