She joked that her daughter, Margaret Qualley, whose star has risen with notable roles in Maid and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, had made her cool in the industry. Andie proudly mentioned that while her daughter was accused of benefiting from nepotism, she now enjoys a unique position as Margaret’s mom and Jack Antonoff’s mother-in-law, getting fan mail as a result of her daughter’s success.

She admitted that she had not attended the 1989 Cannes Film Festival for the promotion of Sex, Lies and Videotape because she had just had a baby, revealing her fear of the pressures at the event. However, she expressed that if it had been a recent Cannes, she would have no hesitation in attending, showing a shift in her comfort level with the industry’s expectations.
