February 2, 2025: Andre 3000, the legendary OutKast member, has confirmed that he will not be attending the 2025 Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 2.
The announcement came via his Instagram on Saturday, where the artist expressed his regret but also noted that some of his New Blue Sun album’s musicians and supporters would be present at the ceremony.
The album New Blue Sun, a new age jazz project and his debut solo album, has earned him three Grammy nominations: Album of the Year, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Instrumental Composition. Despite his absence from the event, Andre shared his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “Our album was conceived and recorded in Los Angeles with the spirit of openness and creative collaboration.” He also wished for a swift and renewing recovery for Los Angeles, especially in light of the recent challenges the city has faced.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year. The ceremony will also raise funds to support wildfire relief efforts in the city. Several big-name artists, including Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga, are slated to perform, while the list of presenters includes Taylor Swift, Will Smith, Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B, Queen Latifah, and SZA.
Beyoncé leads this year’s nominations with 11 nods, followed by Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish with seven each. Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan are also among the top nominees.
