Anees Bazmee Open to Working with Shahid Kapoor Again Says ‘No Dushmani’

November 21, 2024: Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, riding high on the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has cleared the air about his previous project with Shahid Kapoor, which was shelved due to reported creative differences. In a recent interview with News18, the veteran director expressed his admiration for Shahid and his openness to collaborating with him in the future.

No Bad Blood Between Anees and Shahid

Anees had envisioned a project with Shahid Kapoor in the lead, but creative disagreements led to its cancellation. Addressing the situation, Bazmee said, “I still have that film in my mind. I’m sure it would be a lot of fun working with Shahid. He’s very good! Why shouldn’t I work with him again? I have no anger or hatred for anybody (mujhe kisi se na dushmani hai, na naaraazgi).”

The director emphasized the importance of honesty and clarity in creative collaborations. “When you make a film, there has to be mutual agreement between two people. Both parties need to be honest about their expectations. That’s the only way to avoid confusion,” he added.

Creative Differences Are Natural

Anees acknowledged that creative differences are a natural part of the filmmaking process, explaining that both he and Shahid have their own unique approaches. “I have a certain style of working that I’ve been comfortable with for years, and it’s tough for me to change that now. Similarly, Shahid has his own way of working and thinking,” he said.

He further added, “Sometimes, two thought processes may not align, and that’s completely okay. If we can align our sensibilities in the future, I would love to work with him again.”

Meanwhile, Anees Bazmee has another reason to celebrate. His latest film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has emerged as a box office winner, earning over ₹230 crore despite clashing with Singham Again during the Diwali season. The film’s success has further solidified Bazmee’s reputation as a master of comedy and horror.
