Angelina Jolie Hopeful For Family Healing After Years Of Legal Battles With Brad Pitt

January 1, 2025: The long-running saga between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has finally reached a resolution with the official finalization of their divorce on December 30, after nearly eight years of legal battles. While the legal separation has been resolved, tensions between the two continue to simmer, especially as they remain embroiled in a separate lawsuit over their French winery, Chateau Miraval.

Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, described the actress as “exhausted but relieved” by the conclusion of this part of the ordeal, emphasizing her focus on healing for their family. Despite this, a source close to Jolie suggested that she hoped the divorce settlement would encourage Pitt to stop attacking her and shift focus towards healing, especially for the sake of their six children.

However, a source close to Pitt rejected these claims, accusing Jolie of distorting facts and creating unnecessary family turmoil. Pitt himself has remained silent on the finalization of the divorce, choosing not to comment through his representatives.

The tension continues to flare up in the ongoing legal fight over the Miraval property. In October 2021, Jolie sold her share of the winery for USD 67 million, which Pitt contends violated an agreement they had. Jolie’s legal team has argued that Pitt should let go of the lawsuit for the sake of family peace, but Pitt’s camp believes Jolie’s actions, particularly her sale of the property, were intended to harm him personally and professionally.

Despite these ongoing legal skirmishes, both Jolie and Pitt have expressed a shared desire to prioritize their children’s well-being, though the path to resolution remains fraught with bitterness and complex legal battles.
