Anil Kapoor Reminisces ‘Taal’ Journey: A Thrilling Experience with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor took to Instagram on Tuesday to reminisce about his experience working on the iconic film Taal, which was directed by Subhash Ghai and released 25 years ago. The musical romantic drama, also starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna, remains a cherished classic in Indian cinema.

Reflecting on the film, Anil Kapoor shared, “25 years ago, I had the privilege of being a part of a cinematic masterpiece that still resonates with audiences today—Taal. My portrayal of Vikrant Kapoor was an unforgettable moment in my career, and I’m forever grateful to Subhash Ghai for believing in me.”

Anil Kapoor also recounted the thrilling experience of shooting the hit song “Ramta Jogi,” one of his favorites from the film. “Ramta Jogi is one of my favorite songs from the film, but what makes it truly special is the incredible story behind it,” he revealed. Originally, Farah Khan was supposed to choreograph the song, but she had to opt out at the last minute. Legendary choreographer Saroj Khan stepped in just a night before the shoot at Filmistan. Anil, ever the enthusiastic actor, performed the song without any rehearsals, making the experience even more remarkable.

The actor also expressed his admiration for his co-star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, stating, “Working alongside the phenomenal dancer, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was a thrill in itself.”

Taal was a major success upon its release, earning numerous accolades and awards, including several Best Supporting Actor awards for Anil Kapoor at the Filmfare, Zee, IIFA, and Screen Awards. The film’s music, direction, and performances were widely celebrated, cementing its place as a Bollywood classic.

Anil Kapoor concluded his post with a heartfelt message, saying, “Here’s to many more years of music, dance, and drama! #25YearsOfTaal.”

To accompany his nostalgic reflection, Anil Kapoor shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of Taal, giving fans a glimpse of the unforgettable journey of creating this cinematic gem.
