Actor jokes about co-stars while promoting ‘Subedaar’
February 24, 2026: Anil Kapoor, currently promoting his upcoming film Subedaar, left reporters amused with a light-hearted comment about his heroines. When asked about his equation with female co-stars, Kapoor quipped that no heroine today is ready to work with him as they prefer younger actors. He added humorously that even senior actresses aren’t keen on collaborating with him, jokingly asking the media to “put in a word” on his behalf before steering the conversation back to his film.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar also stars Radhika Madan, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh and Faisal Malik. Produced by Abundantia Entertainment, Opening Image Films and Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, the action drama is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 5, 2026.
In the film, Kapoor plays Arjun Maurya, a decorated soldier returning to civilian life only to confront corruption and unrest in his community. The story explores his struggle to adjust to normal life, strained family relationships, and a tense rivalry with Prince, portrayed by Aditya Rawal. Blending emotion and action, Subedaar promises a powerful narrative rooted in the Indian heartland, with the protagonist’s defiant line — “Fauji hai, seene mein goli jhel sakte hai, beizzati nahi” — capturing its core spirit.
