Anil Kapoor’s Mother Nirmal Kapoor Passes Away

May 02, 2025: Nirmal Kapoor, the matriarch of the renowned Kapoor family and mother of Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor, passed away on Friday in Mumbai. She was 90 years old.

Following the news of her demise, son Boney Kapoor was seen arriving at her residence. The family, known for its significant contribution to Indian cinema, is mourning the loss of a beloved figure who held the family together across generations.

Just last year, in September, the Kapoor family had come together to celebrate Nirmal Kapoor’s 90th birthday. Actor Anil Kapoor had shared heartfelt photos with his mother on Instagram, writing:
“90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day.”

Nirmal Kapoor was married to the late Surinder Kapoor, a veteran film producer. Together, they had four children—Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah. She was also a grandmother to many popular Bollywood personalities, including Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah.

Her passing marks the end of an era for one of Bollywood’s most prominent families, and tributes are expected to pour in from across the industry.
