Anne Hathaway To Star With Dave Bautista In FBI Sting Action-Comedy Film

December 14, 2024: Oscar winner Anne Hathaway and actor-wrestler Dave Bautista are set to star in an exciting untitled action-comedy film, which will be written by Jonathan Tropper, the writer of The Adam Project. The film is reportedly inspired by an actual FBI sting operation, where agents posed as a couple to infiltrate global crime syndicates, which unexpectedly led to a staged wedding in New Jersey.

The film is being produced by AGBO, the production company run by Joe and Anthony Russo, alongside Angela Russo-Otstot and Michael Disco. The project was presented to Amazon MGM, which is also collaborating with AGBO on the second season of Citadel and the upcoming film The Bluff. Both Hathaway and Bautista will produce the film through their own production companies: Hathaway’s Somewhere Pictures and Bautista’s Dogbone Entertainment.

The plot centers around two FBI agents with very different personalities who are forced to pose as a couple for an undercover mission. Initially, they dislike each other, but as the mission progresses, they begin to develop a mutual respect. This mismatched-partner dynamic promises a blend of humor, action, and heartfelt moments.

Jonathan Tropper, who has also written This Is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, will pen the screenplay. His knack for combining emotional depth with humor is expected to bring a unique flavor to the action-comedy genre.

In addition to this high-profile project, Dave Bautista will also appear in Jack In Time For Christmas, an upcoming feature film set to be released exclusively on Prime Video worldwide in December. This project, produced by Workerbee and Whitehall’s Jackpot Productions, will feature Bautista alongside Michael Bublé, Jimmy Fallon, Daisy May Cooper, and Tom Davies. The show, which blends scripted comedy with an unscripted travelogue, follows comedian Jack Whitehall as he tries to make it back to the UK for Christmas with just four days to spare. His journey, full of planes, trains, and even bobsleighs, promises a festive and adventurous ride.

Both of these projects highlight Bautista’s growing versatility as an actor, with Jack In Time For Christmas showcasing his comedic chops and the action-comedy with Hathaway providing him an opportunity to bring both humor and action to the big screen.
