Anupam Kher Takes Wicket In Star-Studded T20 Match, See Video!

March 23, 2025: Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher recently took to Instagram to share a memorable moment from a charity cricket match held on Saturday, where Bollywood actors and politicians teamed up to promote awareness about tuberculosis (TB) in India, as part of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ campaign. The match featured two teams: Abhineta XI, led by actor Suniel Shetty, and Neta XI, captained by BJP MP Anurag Thakur.

Abhineta XI triumphed over Neta XI by two wickets, with Anupam Kher showcasing his cricketing skills during the game. Kher shared a video where he took a wicket with an off-spin delivery. In the clip, the batsman attempted to hit the ball for a boundary but ended up being caught out. Kher shared the video with an enthusiastic caption, calling it an opportunity to show off another side of his talent while supporting an important cause.

Kher wrote on Instagram: “I took a WICKET: Played a friendly #CricketMatch between #Netas and #Abhinetas to promote awareness about #Tuberculosis (TB) in India! Thank you to the dearest #AnuragThakur and #SunielShetty, the organisers, and players of both teams for giving me an opportunity to be part of this important cause! That was, by the way, an off-spin delivery which the batsman wanted to hit for a four but got caught! Showing off another side of my talent! Jai Ho! #Cricket.”

Following the match, Suniel Shetty spoke about how the perception of politicians has changed in the “new India,” where they are not just intellectual but also physically fit, reflecting the positive change in the country. He praised the participation of MPs, saying, “Abhineta and Neta played together and defeated TB… It’s a new India with newer politicians. MPs are athletes, and the message that should go out from here is that TB has been defeated.”

On the work front, Kher was last seen in the Netflix film Vijay 69, directed by Akshay Roy and released in November last year.
