May 18, 2025: Veteran actor Anupam Kher’s latest cinematic venture, Tanvi The Great, received a heartwarming and emotional response during its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2025. The powerful story, coupled with its universal theme, struck a chord with audiences from around the world.
Kher took to Instagram to express his heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming appreciation. Tanvi The Great tells the inspiring story of Tanvi Raina, a 21-year-old woman with autism who embarks on a mission to fulfil her late father’s dream — to reach Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield, and salute the Indian flag. Despite facing social resistance and institutional challenges, her determination leads her on an extraordinary journey of courage and self-discovery.
The film features a stellar cast, including Shubhangi Dutt, Karan Tacker (making his big-screen debut), Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, and Arvind Swami. International actor Iain Glen, best known for his role in Game of Thrones, also joins the ensemble.
With Resul Pookutty (Academy Award-winning sound designer of Slumdog Millionaire) handling sound design and music by M.M. Keeravaani, the film promises a powerful cinematic experience.
