Anurag Basu Shares Interesting Update On Kartik Aaryan Starrer ‘Aashiqui 3’

February 3, 2025: Filmmaker Anurag Basu recently shared exciting news about Aashiqui 3, one of Bollywood’s most awaited films, starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. The movie, which marks the third installment in the iconic Aashiqui franchise, is currently in its pre-production phase, with filming set to begin in March.

“We have not started shooting yet. We will start the shoot next month,” said Anurag, giving fans a glimpse into the film’s timeline. Produced by Vishesh Films and T-Series, the film’s female lead is yet to be revealed, keeping fans eagerly guessing.

Aashiqui 3 is set to be Anurag Basu and Kartik Aaryan’s first-ever collaboration, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. The Aashiqui series first captivated audiences in 1990, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, with Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The second film, Aashiqui 2 (2013), directed by Mohit Suri and starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, was a massive box office hit, reviving the beloved franchise.

In addition to Aashiqui 3, Anurag Basu is also working on the sequel to his 2007 film Life in a Metro, titled Metro In Dino. This anthology film stars an ensemble cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and more. Basu has expressed his excitement about working with his trusted collaborator Bhushan Kumar and music composer Pritam, highlighting the importance of music in the film’s narrative.
