Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli Salute Indian Armed Forces Amid Operation Sindoor

May 09, 2025: Actor Anushka Sharma has publicly expressed her heartfelt support for India’s armed forces in the wake of Operation Sindoor, launched to target terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Anushka shared a heartfelt message, saying,
“Eternally grateful to our Indian Armed Forces for protecting us through these times like the heroes that they are. Heartfelt gratitude to the sacrifices they and their families have made,” accompanied by folded hands and Indian flag emojis.

Her husband, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, also took to Instagram to show solidarity with the armed forces.
“We stand in solidarity with and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times. We are forever indebted to our heroes for their unwavering bravery and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for our great nation,” Kohli wrote.

These messages of support come as India remains on high alert following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which prompted Operation Sindoor, a large-scale retaliatory strike that destroyed terror camps at nine locations across the border.

During the intervening night of May 8 and May 9, Pakistan launched multiple drone and munition-based attacks along the Western Border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army reported numerous ceasefire violations but confirmed that the drone attacks were effectively repelled and a befitting response was delivered.

In a statement, the Army said, “Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force.”

Defence officials noted that the Akash surface-to-air missile system, developed indigenously, played a crucial role in intercepting Pakistani drone strikes. Both the Indian Army and Air Force have deployed the missile system along the border to bolster India’s defence capabilities.
