AP Dhillon Trolled Over ‘Lip-Sync’ On Kapil Show

Singer’s performance on The Great Indian Kapil Show sparks online debate

February 12, 2026: Punjabi singer AP Dhillon appeared on Season 4, Episode 8 of The Great Indian Kapil Show alongside stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi, where he performed one of his popular tracks. However, the performance drew criticism online, with several viewers alleging that the 33-year-old singer was lip-syncing instead of singing live. Some social media users even mocked the rendition, claiming he failed to sync properly.

During the episode, Sunil Grover presented a comic parody of Dhillon’s song, prompting host Kapil Sharma to request the singer to perform the original version as a “detox” for the audience. Dhillon then took the stage as the audience cheered, but Reddit users soon questioned the authenticity of the performance. Comments ranged from sarcastic remarks about his lip-syncing to claims that Grover’s parody was more entertaining. “Sunil rocked, AP shocked,” read one comment, while others called the moment “embarrassing.”

The Great Indian Kapil Show features Kapil Sharma as host, along with Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Archana Puran Singh. The upcoming episode will feature Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary promoting their film O Romeo, and is set to air on February 14.
