Apoorva Mukhija Shares Shocking Screenshots of Death, Rape And Acid Attack Threats Amid ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy

April 8, 2025: Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, has taken to Instagram to share disturbing screenshots of graphic and violent threats that she has been receiving. These include rape, acid attack, and death threats in response to her involvement in the controversial show India’s Got Latent. Mukhija, who initially deleted her earlier posts, made a strong comeback with these screenshots to highlight the nature of online abuse she has faced.

In the Instagram post, she shared a collection of threatening comments made by netizens, some of which included violent and explicit threats. She wrote in the caption, “and that’s not even 1%,” emphasizing the severity and frequency of such online harassment she has been subjected to. The post shocked her followers, further drawing attention to the darker side of the influencer and celebrity culture in India.

The controversy surrounding Mukhija began with the show India’s Got Latent, particularly an episode where Ranveer Allahbadia, one of the show’s prominent figures, made controversial remarks about a contestant involving their parents. The comments quickly went viral and were met with widespread condemnation across social media platforms. Allahbadia later apologized publicly, acknowledging that his remarks were inappropriate and lacked humor.

Following the incident, Mukhija’s name was brought up in a case filed by the Guwahati Crime Branch for promoting sexually explicit and vulgar content through the show. An FIR was registered against several influencers and YouTubers, including Mukhija, Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and others, for promoting obscenity and engaging in improper discussions during the show. In early February, Maharashtra’s Cyber Cell also recorded Mukhija’s statement as part of the ongoing investigation into the show’s controversial content.

This incident has raised alarm about online abuse and the lack of accountability for those who use social media to target individuals with hate speech and violent threats. Mukhija’s recent post not only brings attention to this issue but also highlights the intense scrutiny faced by public figures in the digital age. Influencers and celebrities are now calling for stronger measures to protect online safety and mental well-being, urging social media platforms to take a firmer stand against abusive and threatening content.

In related developments, comedian Samay Raina, who is also named in the FIR, appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch earlier this month, and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, another accused, recorded his statement as well. The ongoing investigation aims to bring accountability for content deemed harmful and inappropriate for public viewing.

Mukhija’s decision to speak out against the abuse is seen as an important step in advocating for a safer and more respectful online environment for creators and their audiences.
