Composer moved as fans sing along at Wonderment Tour concert
February 18, 2026: Music maestro AR Rahman left fans emotional during his Valentine’s Day concert in Chennai as part of The Wonderment Tour. A viral video from the show captures Rahman bending down on one knee while performing “Adangatha Asuran” from Raayan, after the entire stadium sang the lines back to him. The gesture drew loud cheers, with many fans calling the moment unforgettable. Actor Dhanush also surprised the audience by joining Rahman on stage during the event.
The video quickly gained traction on social media, with fans praising Rahman’s humility and stage presence. Several attendees shared that even repeated viewings of the clip gave them goosebumps, while others hailed him as the “GOAT.” The concert also featured performances by artists including Chinmayi Sripaada, AR Ameen, Rakshita Suresh, Nisa Shetty, Nitesh Aher, Amrutha Suresh, Nakul Abhyankar, Adithya RK and Srinivasa.
Following the concert, Rahman announced a 40-day break from social media, sharing a selfie video and thanking his Chennai audience. The composer has recently been in the spotlight over remarks made during a BBC Asian Network interview, where he described the film Chhaava as “divisive.” He later reiterated his love for India and music. Rahman is currently composing for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana alongside Hans Zimmer, and also has projects like Lahore 1947, Peddi and Gandhi in the pipeline.
