The track is an emotional love song, where Rahman draws inspiration from the timeless devotion shared between Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai. Rahman explained that the challenge was to blend the historical significance of their relationship with modern emotions, creating a piece that speaks to both worlds. He believes Arijit’s classical expertise added depth and texture to the composition, giving the song a profound emotional layer that elevates it to an extraordinary level.
Speaking about the collaboration, Arijit Singh expressed his excitement, calling the track “divine and sincere.” He mentioned that the melody resonates deeply, and he felt blessed to work with Rahman, describing the experience as both humbling and passionate. The song’s lyrics, penned by Irshad Kamil, are meant to embody a love that transcends time, pure and effortless, capturing the essence of eternal affection.
Irshad Kamil also shared his thoughts on the song, saying that Jaane Tu was created with the intention of capturing a universal and timeless love. He highlighted the synergy between Rahman’s music and his lyrics, which together transformed the song into a piece that would leave a lasting emotional impact on listeners.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, and the movie is a tribute to the courageous Maratha ruler’s reign, starting from his coronation in 1681. Alongside Kaushal, the film features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles.
Chhaava, set to release on February 14, 2025, promises a rich blend of history, music, and romance, and Jaane Tu stands as an early testament to its emotional and musical depth.
