Arabella Stanton Cast as Hermione Granger, Audition Clip Leaves Potterheads Spellbound

May 30, 2025: The magic is returning, and HBO has officially unveiled the young trio who will bring the wizarding world back to life in its much-anticipated Harry Potter reboot. After a year-long global search with over 30,000 auditions, Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout have been cast as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively.

Arabella’s Audition Video Goes Viral

Among the trio, Arabella Stanton — cast as Hermione Granger — is already stealing hearts. A video clip from her audition recently surfaced online and has since gone viral, with fans praising her poised screen presence, spot-on dialogue delivery, and uncanny resemblance to Emma Watson’s iconic portrayal.

“She’s perfect for the role! Kinda reminds me of Emma Watson and Jenna Ortega mixed into one,” one fan gushed.

“That was perfect — exactly how I imagined book Hermione,” another added.

The 11-year-old actress’s performance has led to overwhelming praise, with some fans saying she brings “book-accurate Hermione” to life, while others are stunned by how closely she channels Emma Watson’s tone and mannerisms.

Meet the Full Cast

Alongside the new trio, HBO has also confirmed a powerhouse supporting cast:

  • John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore
  • Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall
  • Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape
  • Nick Frost as Hagrid
  • Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell

The series is helmed by Francesca Gardiner (Succession) as showrunner and writer, with Mark Mylod (Succession, Game of Thrones) on board as director. Filming is slated to begin this summer, and the series is scheduled to premiere in 2026.

A New Chapter in the Wizarding World

This new adaptation promises a faithful, decade-long retelling of J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, with each season expected to focus on a different book in the series. The project has generated massive anticipation, with fans eager to revisit Hogwarts in a fresh, more detailed format.

As buzz builds, all eyes are on Arabella, Dominic, and Alastair to bring new life to the roles that defined a generation.
