As rumors of a feud between Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. circulate, sources close to the actors have confirmed there is “zero bad blood” between the two.
August 27, 2025: Several insiders have publicly put an end to recent web rumors about a reported conflict between Marvel stars Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr People magazine and TMZ said that the claims that there was a fight on the set of Avengers: Doomsday are completely incorrect.
After a podcast said there was “dysfunction” and “a lot of ego” on the set of a next Marvel movie, the rumor mill started to work. This made a lot of people on social media think that the two actors were having a fight. A source informed People, though, that there is “zero bad blood” between the two actors.
TMZ got a tip from a source that says, “The two have never met in person,” which puts the story to rest. The report goes on to say that even though this is the case, they get along and even worked together on a celebrity fantasy football league during the pandemic to generate money for charity. Ryan Reynolds has said that he has “nothing but respect and admiration” for Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. is confirmed to be on site, but not as Iron Man, his famous persona. Instead, he will play the new villain Doctor Doom. Ryan Reynolds’ comeback as Deadpool has not been formally confirmed for the movie, and people are still guessing who will play him.
The Russo Brothers, who also directed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, will direct Avengers: Doomsday, which is part of Phase VI of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie will come out on December 18, 2026, while its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, will come out on December 17, 2027.
