Are You Ready to See Jennifer Lopez Like Never Before?
June 5, 2025: Jennifer Lopez lights up the screen in the first trailer for “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, the dazzling new movie musical from Oscar-winning director Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls”).
Adapted from the celebrated stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb, the film sees Lopez take on the role of Ingrid Luna, a glamorous film star whose most iconic character—a deadly spider woman—kills her lovers with a single kiss. Set against the backdrop of Argentina’s Dirty War in 1981, the story follows Luis (played by newcomer Tonatiuh), a gay hairdresser imprisoned for his sexuality, who uses fantasy and cinema as his escape. His world shifts when he shares a cell with Valentin (played by Diego Luna), a hardened Marxist revolutionary, and the two bond through music, dreams, and survival.

The trailer showcases Lopez’s vocals on the show-stopping number “Where You Are,” one of the film’s 13 musical performances featuring Lopez, Tonatiuh, and Luna. With stunning visuals, emotional depth, and Broadway sparkle, the film blends spectacle with powerful storytelling.
Premiering at Sundance Film Festival, the movie received praise for Lopez’s “smoldering” presence, but it’s Tonatiuh who truly stuns, bringing heart and soul to the screen.
“Kiss of the Spider Woman” will release in theaters on October 10, distributed by Lionsgate.
