Arijit Singh Concert Postponed, 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' Shifts to OTT Amid Heightened Security After Operation Sindoor
May 08, 2025: In the wake of heightened security and national alert following India’s Operation Sindoor, several major entertainment events, including Arijit Singh’s Abu Dhabi concert and the theatrical release of “Bhool Chuk Maaf”, have been postponed or rescheduled.
Singer Arijit Singh’s live performance at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, originally slated for May 9, 2025, has been postponed, as announced by his team via Instagram. “Due to recent events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Arijit Singh live concert… We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding. The new date will be announced soon,” the post read.
The message also clarified that all purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date, with an option for a full refund available starting May 12.
Meanwhile, Maddock Films has announced that its family entertainer “Bhool Chuk Maaf”, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, will now skip theatrical release and premiere directly on Prime Video on May 16. The film was initially scheduled for theatrical release on May 9.
“In light of recent events and heightened national security, we have decided to bring the film directly to your homes… The spirit of the nation comes first,” the producers said in a statement, concluding with “JAI HIND.”
These announcements come just days after India conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7, a high-precision military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. The operation involved long-range missile and drone strikes targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Following the operation, Pakistan attempted counterattacks across Indian airspace, which were successfully intercepted by India’s S-400 Sudarshan Chakra air defence systems and Counter UAS Grid. In response, several locations in Northern and Western India, including Pathankot, Srinagar, Amritsar, and Bhuj, witnessed tightened security and increased air defence activity.
As a result of the heightened military readiness and public safety concerns, entertainment and cultural events across India and abroad are being postponed or redirected to digital platforms.
