Arjun Kapoor Remembers Late Grandmother Nirmal Kapoor with Heartfelt Tribute: “Her Legacy Will Live On”

May 8, 2025: Actor Arjun Kapoor has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother, Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away on May 2 at the age of 90. Taking to Instagram, Arjun shared an emotional message expressing his grief and gratitude for the memories he shared with her.

“I grew up around all my four grandparents & for that I will be eternally grateful,” Arjun wrote. “As I bid goodbye to Dadi last Friday at the hospital, it felt like a part of my childhood and my life went away with her. Through all the ups and downs life gives us, somehow our grandparents give us only love and reasons to smile.”

He fondly remembered how she used to call him “Arjan” and always cared deeply for the family. “Age is a cruel mistress who confines us to issues at some point in life, but Dadi for me was always the same — always feeding us, always worried about us, always there. Now she won’t be… but I feel through her four children and all of us grandchildren, her legacy will live on.”

Arjun also shared several cherished photos and videos of his grandmother, honoring her memory and the impact she had on the family.

Nirmal Kapoor, the matriarch of the Kapoor family and mother of Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor, was briefly hospitalised at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai before her passing. Her final rites were performed at Vile Parle Crematorium on SV Road.

Earlier, actor Anil Kapoor also remembered his mother in a touching post on Instagram, thanking those who extended their support. “The love pouring in from all walks of life has been overwhelming. I truly don’t have the words to express how deeply grateful we are,” he wrote.

Anil described his mother as a “silent pillar” who never sought the spotlight but kept the family united. “She was the glue that kept our family close. Her love reached far and wide, and it’s clear from the outpouring of messages and affection that she made a lasting impact on so many hearts.”

Nirmal Kapoor’s legacy, built on warmth, strength, and unwavering love, continues to resonate through her family and all those she touched.
